ARK

ARK translated is Acts of Random Kindness.

In this busy world where our time is consumed with personal priorities, the exception to the rule is ARK.

Just the other day, I was getting gas at a gas station. There was an old, beat up car with the back window knocked out of it and plastic over the opening. The man inside looked like a vagabond. I proceeded to fill my car with gas. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a man in great distress because his car would not start. Also, I saw an older man, dressed in well-worn clothes, get out of that beat up car, walk over to the other man, spoke for a minute, and then came back to his trunk and got battery cables out of it. He proceeded to start the other man’s car. The change in that man’s face was remarkable. The older man returned to his car, put the cables away, and drove off. This action took only a few minutes. What struck my mind then was ARK. He took an action that blessed a stranger.

It was refreshing to see an Act of Random Kindness in this weary world where so many are consumed with their own priorities as a personal commandment. The news is filled with their version of doom and gloom. It almost makes one believe that Kindness no longer exists. Surprise! In unheralded reality, ARK’s occur more frequently than one knows.

The only question is: Can you step out of your reality long enough to see another’s need and fulfill it willingly?

God’s blessings upon your journey!
