After I initially commented I seem to have
clicked the -Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox and from
now on whenever a comment is added I recieve four emails
with the exact same comment. There has to be
a means you can remove me from that service?

From WordPress IT assistance – for duplicate comments received because they checked the “Notify me when new comments are added” checkbox issue:
The easiest way for them to remove themselves from comment notifications is by navigating to the following page when logged in to their WordPress.com account:
http://wordpress.com/following/edit/
From that page, they’ll need to click the “Edit” link next to your blog name. Then, they’ll see the option to toggle the comment notification off. Here’s an example:
If they do not subscribe through WordPress.com and instead use only email, they can still update their subscription setting by using the Manage Subscriptions link at the bottom of the email as shown here:
